These three you kids were part of a large Hungarian family that lived in the southern part of Chicago’s Uptown in the mid-1970s. This shot was taken the week before Christmas in 1974. The Christmas tree was right behind me. When their mother turned it on, the eyes of the kids lit up, too. That’s why I call this shot “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” Big brother in the background had the Santa thing figured out by this time, but didn’t spoil the magic.
