This lady had just been punched in the mouth by her husband and knocked to the ground right in front of me. He grabbed money from her purse and then ran into a bar (behind me) for a shot of whiskey. After I helped the woman to her feet, she asked me if I would give her some money to buy food for her child. I gave her a dollar for letting me photograph her and her daughter. She immediately left the daughter on the street and literally ran into the bar to join her husband for a drink.
