A reader wrote in to ask me if I had any shots of Alta Vista. Voila. I found this among the 4000 to 5000 negs I have from the mid=1970s. He says this is the view from his living room window. I asked him if anything on the block had changed. Aside from the skyline around the district, the biggest change on Alta Vista was when a resident who had lived there for 71 years died. The new owners replaced glass brick in a living room window with regular glass. The glass brick was originally installed because glass was in short supply during World War II.
