This is a view of Argyle, looking east from the El in 1976. Enlargement will show the names of businesses on the street. Compared to other commercial streets in Uptown during the middle part of the 1970s, Argyle felt pretty sleepy. I could spot only one Oriental restaurant/gift store in this shot. Argyle today looks much the same though there are many more Oriental restaurants and shops.
