If I remember correctly, this shot was taken from Dead Horse State Park in Utah looking east toward Moab. Normally when shooting landscapes, I like them to show as little evidence of man as possible. On this cold, dry winter day, jet contrails criss-crossed the sky everywhere I looked. They were unavoidable. Over time, I’ve grown to like this shot. It has come to symbolize the hand of man on America for me.
