This cook is the father of the young girl and the son-in-law of the grandmother in the next shot. He worked in the family-run Guatemala Cafe, a happy restaurant with incredible food on Wilson Avenue in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. While many Chicago neighborhoods in the 1970s, were dominated by a single ethnic group, Uptown was extremely diverse. One could sample cuisines from around the world, all within a few blocks.
