During the mid-1970s, teenagers came from all over Chicago to see the hottest rock groups in the world play at Uptown’s Aragon on Lawrence, next to the ‘L’. On December 26, 1975, this group stood in the freezing cold for 24 hours to get tickets to see the Blue Oyster Cult and Ted Nugent. When I appeared with my camera, the bored crowd suddenly became animated and rushed the barricades. One teen fell over them and scrambled to climb back into the crowd lest he lose his place in line.
