I watched this egret feeding in this shallow pond for close to twenty minutes. He would shuffle one foot in front on himself trying to stir up minnows, frogs and small fish. When he spotted activity in the water, he coiled his neck and plunged his head in the water so quickly that he formed an air pocket around it. Taken at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, Texas with the Nikon D4 and 800 mm lens with 1.2 x tele-extender.
