All the technology that humans have cannot match the sophistication of a bird’s brain. In a rookery, thousands of birds routinely fly within inches of each other without collisions. Perhaps we could learn something from them.
I caught this egret flyby at the Audubon Society’s Smith Oaks Rookery in High Island, Texas with a Nikon D4S, 200-400mm Nikkor at 400mm, and a 1.4x teleconverter. F6.3 at 1/8000th of a second at ISO 500.
