This egret is pouncing on another bird that invaded its nest. Shots like this make the elegant bird look like a flying reptile. I took this shot with a new Nikon D4S and the Nikkor 800mm f5.6 lens handheld at 1/800th of a second with the ISO at 900 and vibration reduction on.
