This young girl’s parents had told her to play outside but stay in the yard where they could keep an eye on her. She never went beyond the fence. Being wary was wise in Chicago’s Uptown neighbood during the 1970s. Within seconds after I stopped to take her picture, her mother appeared. Many watchful eyes patrolled the streets!
