During the mid-1970s, Uptown had a huge white population from Appalachia. So it’s not too surprising to see a barbecue joint called Daniel Boone’s. After all, Daniel Boone did come from Kentucky. But this sign did make me laugh out loud, when it compared fried chicken to “other fine foods.” Only in Uptown!
