I took this shot of a great egret returning to its nest at the Audubon Society’s Smith Oaks Rookery in High Island, Texas, with the Nikon D4S and the 800mm f5.6 Nikkor. The bird was close and flying fast. Without the fast focusing capability of the D4S, I doubt I would have been able to capture this shot.
