The Harrison Gents gang was one of four gangs visibly vying for control of the streets in Chicago’s Uptown Neighborhood during the mid-1970s. The other three were the Latin Kings, Latin Eagles and Gaylords. Their graffiti were everywhere. Sometimes, the painting was quite elaborate; at other times, not so much. The striking thing about this graffiti was the extent of it – three stories high! Most people in the neighborhood, like these two young women, accepted graffiti as a fact of life.
