I found this red-tailed hawk in the trees just outside my office window. It had been feasting on a possum that it killed. When I approached with the camera, it reluctantly flew up to a low branch, but still vigilantly guarded its kill. It wanted to make sure that I didn’t steal any meat that it was taking to its young.
