As I finished taking a picture of someone else, I turned around and saw this young man standing behind me. He was very disoriented and had trouble walking, but I could smell no alcohol on his breath. Drugs were relatively rare at the time. I saw this person on the streets of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood frequently. He always seemed curious about what I was doing and always seemed high. You would think someone in that state would shy away from cameras, but not this person. A reader wrote to say this location was 4633 North Broadway. Clicking on the link will take you to Google Maps street view where you can see that the wig store is still there though it looks like the ownership has changed.
