A patch of grass big enough to play football on was rare in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood in the mid-1970s. I found these four kids playing a game of two-on-two in front of an Uptown church. They took a time out to have their picture taken and posed in a huddle. I wonder if any of them went on to play high school or college ball.
