I found this group of kids coming out of the Buena Grocery store with ice pops in the mid-1970s. The store used to be next to the ‘L’ just north of Buena Circle Park in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. I was constantly amazed at how energetic and happy Uptown kids seemed at this age. Forty years later, their exuberance still makes me smile.
