This young lady worked at the Indian Employment Service on Wilson Avenue in 1974. She would interview people who came in looking for jobs, trying to match skills to needs. She was kind enough to let me photograph her interviewing one of her clients. She’s looking over some job listings as he tells her about his work history. Her gorgeous bracelet and necklace immediately caught my eye. There was tremendous interest in Native American art and jewelry during this era. Uptown reportedly had twenty different social service agencies catering to the needs of American Indians at the time.
