This man was a Latin King in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. I photographed him near the corner of Winthrop and Ainslie in the mid-1970s. On this day, I found him sipping beer while sitting on the railing of this front porch. As I started to take his picture, he casually pulled out this gun. Point made. Intimidation personified.
