I photographed this young man in the 4800 block of North Winthrop in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood during the summer of 1974. He was with a group of friends, both male and female who were all well dressed in the styles of the time. I suspect one of the women, who was probably his girlfriend, knit the beret. He’s wearing a heart-shaped medallion around his neck.
