I photographed his Latin King near the corner of Winthrop and Ainslie on 4/24/1976. He went by the gang name of Weasel. I asked him what the clenched fist over the heart represented. He told me that this was the Latin Kings’ Salute and that to a Latin King it meant only one thing: “I will die for you.” I wish someone could tell me why all these gangs called themselves “Almighty.”
