I call this shot “Let’s get ready to rumble.” It shows a group of Latin Kings getting liquored up on a Friday night in the fall of 1976. Their energy grew as the group grew. Members seemed to come out of nowhere. Shortly after taking this shot, the group started to get rowdy and I left, so I have no idea of what happened later. The location was on Winthrop, near Ainslie in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.
