This young man was a leader of the Latin Kings in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood in the mid-1970s. He went by the street name of Pinhead during that era. I photographed him, his friends, and his girlfriend on numerous occasions; he usually liked to be photographed in his signature black trench coat (which he wore year round) next to Latin King graffiti like this LK Hood sign. I was contacted by his daughter who told me that he was murdered when she was just three years old. Sadly, the daughter also told me that her mother died just months later.
