This car belonged to a Thorndale Jagoff (TJO). The TJOs were an Edgewater gang. This car’s battery had been stolen so many times that the owner poked a hole in his hood, ran a chain through it, and locked it around his car’s chassis. This image was taken in 1976, America’s bicentennial, near the corner of Winthrop and Ainslie which was the focus of Latin King activities in Uptdown during the middle part of the 1970s.
