The streets of Uptown in the 1970s were crowded with bars and the sidewalks were crowded with those hoping for handouts that would help them get their next drinks. It was a cold winter day when I took this shot of an aging man in front of this bar’s On Tap sign. Note the torn zipper at the bottom of the man’s jacket. Both the man and the jacket had seen better days.
