This man’s name was Barney and he was a pastry maestro. He lived in Rogers Park but ran a bakery on Wilson. I drooled every time I went by his shop. He sold delicious pastries, pies, cakes, breads and cookies. You could smell the fresh baked bread from half a block away. Barney always had a smile. He had a kind heart and loved to feed the pigeons leftovers at the end of the day.
