Early on a sunny Sunday morning, shortly after getting off the El to start my Uptown sojourn, I spotted these bottles clustered around a lamp post outside one of the neighborhood’s many bars. I call this image Pontiac and Port because the label on the left hand bottle says “Port.” Port wine is strong and sweet, originally from Portugal, typically drunk as a dessert wine. I can’t imagine drinking an entire bottle at one time. The person that drank it evidently had to clear his palette with several beers. Taken on Broadway across from Goldblatt’s according to a reader.
