This roseate spoonbill had been perching on a swaying branch with another. When it pushed off into the air, the branch swayed backward. The roseate didn’t get as much leverage as it might have liked. When it realized it was falling, it started pedaling with its legs in a desperate attempt to gain speed. It looks like it is walking on air.
