Theft was common in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood during the mid-1970s. Sometimes people or companies would hire private security guards to supplement police protection. This security guard was supervising the unloading of a truck to make sure nothing “fell off the back.” I’m not sure of the location. I think this might have been taken in the western part of Uptown.
