I took this shot on February 14, 1976, near the ‘L’ at Sheridan and Irving Park. This neighborhood was had a large Hispanic population at the time. The Young Lords organization occupied some retail space not far from here at Grace and Wilton. The shop in the background sold gifts, travel, clothes, perfume, records, and turntables. It had a very eclectic mix of merchandise. CDs would not become a commercially viable medium for the distribution of music for another eight years.
