A friend of mine who spent his entire career at Chevrolet looked at this photo and the first thing he said was, “Oh, that’s a six banger.” He was referring to the six cylinder engine. That would probably be the last thing most people noticed about this photo. Just goes to show you. We all have our own ways of looking at the world. The Urban Dictionary defines six banger as a six pack of beer. Beer was not the spirit of choice in the hills of eastern Tennessee in 1973.
