I photographed this smiling girl in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood during the spring of 1974. Sadly, I can’t tell you much more about this person or even where I took the shot. My note taking was not very good on this day. This young lady was part of a group of four girls. It seemed to me that they all had a big secret that was the source of some invisible energy that kept them giggling whenever they encountered a guy (like me). Wait a minute. That means they’re like all girls this age!
