Confession. This shot is not from Uptown. It’s from Morse Avenue in Rogers Park where I lived. I took this shot on Christmas Day of 1974. I was on my way to the “L” to photograph in Uptown. I was struck by the tranquility of the scene. A fresh blanket of snow acted as a city wide sedative. The few people who braved the streets had them all to themselves. It was a great time to take a walk with an old friend, reminisce and count the year’s blessings.
