When I took this photo in the mid-1970s, this church on the corner of Wilson and Broadway in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood posted clever new signs every week to attract new members. During the years I photographed in Uptown, I believe this church (which is still there) changed from a Congregational Church to a Baptist Church. My understanding is also that the church later led a fight to help clean up Uptown, especially the bars which were everywhere at the time.
