These teens were Latin Eagles. “Taller De La Gente” translates as “The People’s Workshop.” In their “workshop” they had a bench press machine and these sand filled weights. They asked me to take this picture of them together to demonstrate their solidarity. Whereas the Latin Kings were more prevalent in the northern part of Uptown during this era, the Latin Eagles were more prevalent in the southern part. Many had a Puerto Rican heritage.
