As I started to photograph these kids in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, they started to tickle each other. It was a moment of pure childhood silliness and innocence….which I sadly spoiled. I just should have gone with the flow. Instead, I asked them to keep their hands to themselves. They immediately overreacted by tucking their hands under their arms, adjusting their glasses, etc. Except for the little girl on the left in the front. She reached around to continue tickling the person behind her who was having trouble keeping a straight face.
