A TJO (Thorndale Jagoff) whose car battery had been stolen repeatedly by Latin Kings decided to retaliate. I asked him what the baseball bat and football helmet were for. His response: “battle gear.” (I think he was also wearing a bullet-proof vest under his t-shirt). He and his buddy posed for some pictures then went over to piss on a Latin Kings’ mural. There were no Kings around and the whizzing went unnoticed. The TJOs got back in their vehicle and drove back north to Edgewater. Photo taken near Winthrop and Ainslee in the summer of 1976.
