These two men were part of an Edgewater gang called the Thorndale Jagoffs (TJOs). They came to Uptown one day in late 1976 with football pads, football helmets and baseball bats to do battle with the Latin Kings that hung out on the corner of Winthrop and Ainslie. The Kings had repeatedly stolen the battery out of their car. There was only one problem. There were no Latin Kings around when the TJOs showed up. So the TJOs settled for urinating on the Latin King mural that was at that corner. Then the TJOs congratulated themselves, saddled up, and rode back to Edgewater.
