Back in the mid-1970s I spotted this man selling tokers on the street up and down the Red Line ‘L’. He did it quite openly and displayed a city peddler’s license on his wares. People always did double takes when they walked by him. A few would purchase some of his tokers. I got the sense that he was selling these as much as a political statement as he was to make money.
