I didn’t take very many pictures of streets in Uptown, but this was one of them. The notes on my contact sheet say, “Lawrence and Broadway.” In the scene, note a Goldblatt’s department store beyond the Uptown National Bank. The Riviera theater was playing Snow White. And Lawray Drugs (managed by Dave Lisitza) was advertising Bufferin for $1.09. Enlarging the photo will reveal a wealth of detail in signs that may not be clearly visible in the thumbnail shown here. The date was 12/27/1975. Here is what the same corner looks like today.
