WGN covered the housing protest organized by ONE in February of 1976. Videotape cameras were relatively new inventions at this time. Film was still the broadcast standard for news footage. Note the belt drive on the camera’s film magazine. Film skewed news coverage in that it pushed reporters to file their stories much earlier in the day to allow development and editing of the stories.
