This image was taken in August of 1974. I was standing on Wilson across the street from the Wilson Club Hotel for Men. On the right you can see the new Harry Truman College under construction. The man in the foreground was sharing a bottle of Thunderbird with his female friend. She had a giant bruise on her chin. She didn’t explain how she got it; she was more intent on getting another drink of the Thunderbird. Thunderbird was a popular brand in Uptown in the mid-1970s.
