This entrance to the Windsor Wilson Apartment Hotel was covered with graffiti from competing gangs in 1975 when I took this shot. The gangs included the Latin Kings and Harrison Gents plus several others that I am less familiar with. Some of the graffiti may represent the names of individuals. I’m not sure. According to a reader who wrote in, f/p/r/s, stands for Future Puerto Rican Stones. As the gang became less and less Puerto Rican in membership in later years, they became known as the Future Stones and are now known as Familia Stones. If someone knows what the other names represent, please contact me so that I can update the caption.
Today, the building has reversed its name. It’s called the Wilson Windsor Apartments at 915 West Wilson.
