I frequently saw these two teenagers on the streets of Uptown when I was photographing there in the mid-1970s. To me, they represented the epitome of young love. Sometimes you see two young people together and you wonder if it’s just hormonal. In this case, I sensed there was something deeper, that they had genuine affection for each other. They somehow seemed to prove to that young people could have a  caring relationship despite the surroundings. Every time I look at this image, I wonder if the relationship lasted. Note the H/G in the background. That stood for a street gang called the Harrison Gents. If someone knows what happened to them, please let me know so that I can update the captions.
