This man’s beard made him look like a cross between an Irish elf and Santa’s helper. His eyebrows were almost as long as his beard! I photographed him near Sheridan and Broadway in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood in the winter of 1976. He used to roam the streets of Uptown on a bicycle with a giant basket on the front of it.
